Group counseling can be a powerful way of working on issues at any age. But it is especially so during adolescence and young adulthood, when social relationships take on enlarged importance. Yet, the skills to relate effectively are still developing, presenting challenges to forming and maintaining friendships. Group counseling offers an opportunity to work on relationship skills with other group members, while also providing a support system to sustain life's challenges .
